Note: All figures are quoted per annum. 
The figures shown exclude VAT.

*As of November 2025, Brighton & Hove Digital Radio CIC is not registered for VAT.  If the company becomes VAT-registered in the future, VAT will be added to all invoices at the applicable rate from the date of registration.

Discount Policy

Brighton & Hove Digital Radio CIC is committed to supporting and promoting local, community, and not-for-profit broadcasting across the Brighton & Hove area.

At its sole discretion, the company may offer individual carriage fee discounts based on the broadcaster’s type, contribution to the local media landscape, and operational circumstances.

Eligibility Factors

Discounts may be considered for services that meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Hold an analogue Community Radio Licence

  • Hold a digital (C-DSP) Community Radio Licence

  • Operate a student or hospital radio service

  • Are structured as a charity, Community Interest Company (CIC), or other not-for-profit organisation

  • Produce programming within the Brighton & Hove area

  • Provide in-kind or contra support to Brighton & Hove Digital Radio CIC

  • Participated in the Trial Brighton multiplex between 2015 and 2025

Selection and Assessment

Brighton & Hove Digital Radio CIC reserves the right to:

  • Select services based on their relevance and appeal to the potential audience within the Brighton & Hove area

  • Encourage diversity by taking into account the range of services and genres carried on the multiplex

  • Consider a broadcaster’s ability to pay when determining or negotiating carriage fees

Commitment to Community Broadcasting

Brighton & Hove Digital Radio CIC is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and sustainable local broadcasting environment that reflects and serves the communities of Brighton & Hove.

Technical Overview

  • Broadcast Standard: DAB+ (HE-AAC v2)

  • Audio Input: IP (preferred), or direct encoding

  • Service Monitoring: 24/7 multiplex supervision

  • Contract Term: Minimum 12 months

  • Billing: Annually in advance (monthly/quarterly terms negotiable)
